At that time I moved in with my human's mom. She was called Mary. Mary was a real nice lady and she treated me real good. I got good food, treats, toys and a nice place to sleep. The only problem was that she couldn't keep up with my lifestyle. I wanted to go for long walks, run around and chase the furry little critters out in the backyard. I didn't realize it at the time, but my luck began to change around Thanksgiving last year. A nice man named Michael and his dog Neka were taking a walk around the neighborhood. I wasn't living there yet, but they stopped to say hello to Mary and they promised to come back to play with me when I got moved in. Several months passed, and we were out in the back yard playing when Michael and Neka stopped by to meet me. They were out walking in the neighborhood and came across the street to see me. We were properly introduced and became friends in a very short time. Within just a few minutes we were running and playing together. They were able to stay for about 3 hours. I was really tired when they left, but it was great to have someone to play with!
Then it happened, Michael came to see me but Neka didn't come with him. Mary started giving him all of MY stuff. I knew something was going on when he took my bed and my favorite pink blanket to his car. Shortly after that my food and my toys went ... When the bag of treats and my shampoo got put into a bag I started to panic! (Do You Blame Me?) But then he put the leash on me and said, "Let's go for a walk" ... I knew what that word was, and I was more than happy to do it. We walked for a long time and I got to meet two new dogs. That was pretty cool ... I liked walking with him. He made me feel safe and it was nice to get out of the yard for awhile. After we got done walking, he took me for a ride in his car. My blanket was there and I got the whole back seat to myself. I got to look out the windows, bark at some people and see what was going on in the world. When the ride stopped I got out of the car and went into a big yard. There were lots of new smells and one of them was Neka. Michael opened the back door of the house and there she was. I said, "HI NEKA" ... We caught up on old times and then she showed me around. We hung out in the yard, playing and sniffing around for a few hours. I even got to meet two more dogs. They live on the other side of the fence. There names are Babe and Keta. Babe was kind of loud, but she's nice to me. Keta is the strong quiet type but she seams very nice too.
That first night I didn't get much sleep. The house made some strange noises and every time I heard one I had to investigate it. Micheal and Neka kept telling me it was OK, but I still had to see it for myself. I finally fell asleep on my bed, and when I woke up we got to go outside and then we got to eat again. Cool!!! I've been here for a while now. I get to go outside when I want to, sleep when I want to and i get lots of walks, treats when I do something good, and lots of love. I think I'm going to REALLY like it here! Wanna see some pictures of me and my friends? Go Here ... (No, not like THAT, I meant Click on it)
