Rod Holtan's
1990 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe

Rod's 1990 Thunderbird SC  I owned a 1993 Camaro Z28 back in 1994, and was no longer willing to make the large monthly payments.

I decided to trade it for an older less expensive car to get lower payments, and one week before Labor Day I came across a 1990 Titanium Super Coupe at a local dealership.

I really liked the way the car looked, and asked if I could take it for a test drive. The salesman said that I could look at it, but it couldn't be driven until they either charged or replaced the battery, as it wouldn't start.

Rod's 1990 Thunderbird SC Right then I learned my first lesson about these great cars. Anyone who doesn't own one, has even got a clue as to what they are about.

I got in the car and tried to start it, and it fired up immediately. (Good habits when starting cars, that I got from my dad, allowed me to start it since I always have my foot on the brake on when I start any car). I now consider the brake starter cutout my anti-theft device, as no one ever figures it out.

Rod's 1990 Thunderbird SC - Rear View I drove the car overnight, and bought it the next day and put over 2200 miles on it the first 5 days I had it. I have since had to rebuild the transmission, (at about 72,000 miles), and it has been running good ever since. By the way, am now at 102,000 miles.

I am the second owner of the car, and have no plans whatsoever of selling it anytime soon.

As for modifications, I have added sunscreen lettering, black molded bug deflector, 95 style rims, a rear wing and window tint.

I have been to one SCCoSW meet, and plan to attend others as time allows in the future. (Email Me)
